The geo-political entity called Akwa Ibom State, with a landmass of 7,245,935
sq. km and a population of 3.9 million, lying in the tropical guinea
rainforest, came into existence on the 23rd September, 1987.
At the moment, the State is being led by a visionary and dynamic people
oriented Governor, His Excellency, Arc (Obong) Victor Attah, who is gradually
moving the State into an urbanized, industrialized and private-sector driven
State as against the hitherto, poverty-stricken, civil service State." |
